A spacious place

For 6 years we lived in a 1100 square feet house.  We moved there for a purpose, to pay off debt. When we made that last student loan payment, and then the last bank loan payment, and then the last credit card payment, these were joyful times. We had made sacrifices in our living situation, but at least it was for a GOOD reason. We were tired of stacks of bills with nothing of value to balance them out, so we went gazelle intense for a few years and got rid of it. There will always be some sort of bills or debt to pay, but now all of our debt has equity behind it, and we just say NO to credit cards. The week after Christmas it feels so good that we didn't charge a cent. We paid all cash for everything we bought for Christmas (presents, food, traveling, etc), and had a very nice Christmas. So, Christmas was also nice because it was our first Christmas in our new house. Ok, it's not new, but it's new for us. The new house is wonderful because: The kitchen is l...

What I believe

Jim Rohn says your personal philosophy (what you believe) is the way we set the sails of our life. It will determine the direction we will go. What philosophy is setting your sails? For many years I've drifted without really setting my sails towards a purposeful direction or clearly defined philosophy. Yes. I've drifted WITH God towards gratitude, abundance, blessings, faith, knowledge (of Him), hard work, and love , but if I'm honest with myself....I've drifted. I've used my busy schedule as an excuse not to grow in a clearly defined, purposeful direction. But God knows when we are drifting, and when it's time to set the sails. Today I  was reading a Holistic Anatomy book, and my beliefs were clarified before my eyes as I read the pages. The page right after the references to earth energy, evolution, and  the book described the "amazing DESIGN of a semipermeable cell membrane". Did you get that? The amazing design!  The existence of design natu...

Ferbie Boom is not the Ultimate

Recently I had a mommy moment that was out of the ordinary for me. My 8 year old daughter, IPK, said something entertaining yet ridiculous, and I happened to have something of substance to say in response to her. To God be the glory for that. Ok, so we are pulling into Walmart (not my favorite moment of the week), and Bella is telling me about a new thing at school. I'm trying to hear her and really pay attention, but I must admit, I was barely listening as I'm trying to find a parking space. Her enthusiasm built, and she finally caught my ear.... " Mom , every one at school has a Ferbie Boom. It's so cool. It talks to you and dances and it's TIE-DYE. Everyone has one and it's just awesome." I hear her say this, and I'm not excited. I'll need to tell her something along the lines of "That's ridiculous and you aren't getting one", but I'll be careful to try to say it in a kind way...I said I'd TRY.  Then she says ...

Be careful what you worship

Ordinary: It's 5am and I'm up with coffee and the scripture, trying to fill my spiritual cup for the day. Extraordinary: That "aha" moment when God teaches you something new through a scripture you've seen before, and it's like he's speaking straight to you.  Today the verses that stood out to me and made me say "aha" was Psalm 115: 2-18. These verses describe idols and idol worship, and idol worshippers.  I noticed the last verse especially. Psalm 115: 2-18 2  Why should the nations say, “ Where, now, is their God?” 3  But our  God is in the heavens; He  does whatever He pleases. 4  Their  idols are silver and gold, The  work of man’s hands. 5  They have mouths, but they  cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see; 6  They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell; 7  [ b ] They have hands, but they cannot feel; [ c ] They have feet, but they cannot walk; They canno...

Today is a great day to remember what God has to say! Keep marching in truth! (and a little Inositol vitamin for anxiety is helpful too) Tink
