Win With People

25 Ways to Win with People is a useful and motivating handbook written by John Maxwell and Les Parrott with practical advice on how to cultivate stronger relationships with other people. Whether we are creating more meaningful relationships with our spouse, a brother or sister in Christ, our children, or our coworkers, our time could never be spent on anything more important. It’s the easiest, most obvious and important priority to set.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Doesn’t that just encourage you to know that YOU were created in Christ Jesus for good works, and you are HIS workmanship!? The same God that created the breathtaking sunsets, the awesome star sparkling night sky, and those sweet newborn baby blue eyes created YOU! You are precious.  In the same way, all of God’s people (past present and future) are precious. Understanding and realizing that God’s greatest gifts are the people around us has been a wonderful revelation in my own life.

With this in mind, we must always be aware of the status of our relationships with the people around us. We must spend time cultivating the relationships, caring for them, and building UP the people around us. It’s the good work we were made for!

I felt like the book had so many good tips I needed to make an outline to keep it all
More organized!

25 Ways to Win with People:
  • Start with Yourself
  •  Practice the 30 second rule
  • Create a memory and visit it often
  • Compliment People in front of other People
  • Give others a reputation to uphold
  • Say the right words at the right time
  • Encourage the Dreams of Others
  • Pass the credit on to others
  • Offer your very best
  •  Share a secret with someone
  • Mine the gold of good intentions
  • Keep your eyes off the mirror
  • Do for others what they can’t do for themselves
  • Listen with your heart
  • Find the Keys to their hearts
  • Be the first to help
  •  Add value to people
  • Remember a person’s story
  • Tell a good story
  • Give with no strings attached
  •  Learn your mailman’s name
  • Point out people’s strengths
  • Write notes of encouragement
  •  Help People Win
Basically, if you want to win with people, you have to focus more on them than on yourself, and the rest just falls into place. So easy to say, so hard to do, and so rewarding to live by.

This week give just one of these a try, and see what happens.

Happy for the possibilities,

Tink
