Memaw, snow, babies, and birthday cakes

So, what have we been up to lately? Oh, we have been extraordinarily busy! Here is an update so you know where we've been! (by the way, wet fingernails so excuse any creative typing)

In the past 30 days:

We got to see my mom (Memaw), and we had not seen her in 10 MONTHS. She was here in town for both Christmas as well as a special arrival you'll hear about in just a moment. The kids just couldn't get enough of Memaw while she was here (neither could I).

We took a wonderful, magical Christmas road trip to Tennessee to see Grandma, and it SNOWED. We left town at 3pm Christmas day and didn't get to grandmas until 4:30 am on the 26th. We arrived safely through snow and ice and after hours of going only 45mph (because of snow and ice). I've never been so happy to get somewhere! Thank you to Mr. Extraordinary for driving 90% of the way there and for just being the best husband ever.

We got a new nephew, and for fun we will call him Mr. Ash. He is a teeny precious baby doll. He arrived Thursday January 3rd, 2013, and he's the 3rd child. And his mom was the third child as well. The day he arrived the world was perfect, just as he is.

And last but not least, our sweet Punkin turned the "0-5"! She chose to have a small party at home (last year we didn't do any birthday parties so this was a treat for her). She had a Hello Kitty piƱata, and she got new swings on her swing set. Although she has a monkey hat on, the party was themed Disney's Tangled. I can't believe she is already 5. She is our skirt wearin', boot loving, stylish, lovable, BRAVE, and very smart Punkin'. She loves God, her mommy, her daddy, and her sister with all her heart. This year she got her own room, started to learn how to swim, saw snow for the first time, started pre-k, and started learning to read. Who knows what this treasure will do next!?

Make a wish Punkin!

She was sick on the original party date, so we partied on Sunday afternoon, and mommy had to get her this lovely Tangled umbrella (her first) as a special present. Oh, and rain boots too. This kid is stylin'.

Talk about abundant blessings. God is so good! He continues to watch over us and surprise us with good things we couldn't have imagined. All praise and honor and glory to HIm.

In Him,
Tink
