Graduation, birthday cake, and VBS

When it's been a while since the last post, you know we've been super busy. Work has been full of wonderful opportunities to go early and stay late, and limited time to write. I always regret not taking enough time to write, but at the moment resting seems smarter than burning the candle at both ends, so I'm glad for that. After 12 weeks of unexpected additional responsibility at work, I feel like I came through it stronger, and even more healthy, rather than getting sick.

Ok, enough about me! Back to family stuff! During the past few weeks, we:

Watched our lil Punkin graduation Pre-K, and she did a great job!!


We celebrated lil' cousin Tighty's 3rd birthday. Or you can call him "Batman":



We celebrated IPK's 8th Birthday in Dallas with brother G and sister S:

Oh, and we went to a few days of VBS. I couldn't take off for all 5 days, and thank goodness, because we missed the violent stomach virus that was going around. Ugh. Here is IKP's VBS class. The theme was "Lord, Make me a servant". 


This is just one of two "Catch up" posts. Yes, we've been busy, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Around the Table- a silly story

Ordinary: Chaos at dinner time, plus 2 more kids Extraordinary: An unforgettable, precious little story I'll tell my kids (and their 2 cousins) for years. :) This past weekend I kept my sister's two little ones, "Tighty" and "Yaya", and it was definitely busy at our place. Yaya is 4 and Tighty is not even 2, so combine that little recipe with another restless 4 year old and a curious and super smart almost 7 year old, and you have a perfect dish of entertaining chaos. They have their quiet moments, but I'll be honest. When it's too quiet I'm worried. Chaos is pretty much what you expect with 4 kids. Simply Tea Time

Blessing # 593: Tea Time with my Girls !! Tea Time!!!!! (or the idea of it) I learned about Tea Time at my Aunt Wanda's funeral earlier this year. Several of her children and grandchildren brought up the tea times she had with them as their fondest memories with her. She used that time to talk to them about the Bible and guide them in Biblical principles and encourage them. Her funeral was a sad day, and I didn't expect to walk away with a treasure that would bless me and my family, but God works in mysterious ways.  Ok, so now the question is, what is Tea Time, and why do we do it? Tea time is quality mother daughter time when I put down the chore list (and my phone), and all of the other distractions of life, and I focus on the most important little treasures in my life. My baby girls.  We do tea time every Saturday at 5 pm. We have some sort of warm fruity tea (I'll add green tea if they are anxious or tired, or maybe chamomile if they are bouncing off

Update: Knapp Family Soap

Ok, so if you missed my last post, we started a soap business from home. We're making the soap for ourselves anyways, and the soap is so wonderful that we decided to make it available for sale. You'd have to know that my husband is a chef, and he's using his skills on making soap, so every bar is like a symphony of scent and texture. It's good soap. Here's what we did this weekend: We figured our our packaging, and a small free gift for every order. We did a cost analysis on ingredients and packaging so we could get prices right. This may sound boring to some of you, but if you know us....we both love this sort of thing. The Coffee scrub bar was re-named the Vanilla Latte Bar, since it smells more like vanilla (but has coffee in it). The price was set at $5 per bar for 4.5 ounces. Again, I just love this bar- my favorite so far. It's probably because it has coffee in it, and that's all it takes.  Husband (the Soap Chef and CEO) made a new soap bar
