Finally! Getting Certified in Holistic Nutrition

I've wanted to expand my education in nutrition for about 5 years now. Maybe it's because I've worked in a wellness center and vitamin store, so I knew it was needed. Or maybe it's because I'm a mom feeding 2 little girls in a world where heart disease, diabetes and cancer seem to be lerking around every corner. Either way, I finally picked out a program and got started late last year. From the first study session it was love at first nutrient. I learned more about flax seed, turmeric, broccoli, strawberries, apples and cranberries than I ever knew about a single vitamin. These foods were created by God with wonderful, amazing healing and restorative powers. I immediately started eating more of them, feeding more fruits and veggies to my family, and telling those around me about them.

I read books on my lunch break, and watched intense nutrition DVDs while doing the elliptical (which felt very healthy!). I took a couple of days off work to focus on the study material. I prayed over my time management and asked friends around me for advice on how to make time for finishing a certificate that seemed to go on and on.

Ultimately, it took 9 months of studying, 12 hours of DVDs, 5 books, 2 patient kids and 1 loving supportive husband, and the grace of God.....I'm finally a nutritionist!
